The Indiana Fever extended a Core qualifying offer to Kelsey Mitchell.
That took some time also.

Just showed CC sitting with Taylor S. at the Chiefs game. I'm thinking it was Kelce's mom sitting behind them. T was whispering something to CC.
Talked about CC for probably :30; ROY, AP female athlete, first rookie to make first team all WNBA since CP, etc.
I don't think she is missing playing in U.

Swift was sometimes covering her mouth when she talked to Clark like she didn't want any lip reading.

When Swift had her Indianapolis part of the tour in the fall she left merchandise bags for Clark. Curious as to how she knew Clark was coming. Maybe she gets notified of any famous attendees.

I am starting to consider Tina Charles as an option for the Fever. She really has a productive year for Atlanta - and part of that likely was that injuries ensured she was able to get her fair share of shots.
But shots are aplenty in the Fever offense, so volume shouldn’t be an issue for her or any of the Big 3 on a nightly basis. Tina is a better midrange shooter than NaLyssa, but signing her wouldn’t require ditching NaLyssa. It could be depth if she was willing to go that direction for the greater good for a season.
I don’t have data but I have to assume Tina may be a slightly better finisher in the paint than Smith. Slightly better 3 point shooting though not a primary skill set at this point. She’s a vet and could bring some gravitas to the team. And she costs no assets. Something I love for the Fever.

Again, I would not trade any assets away unless what I got back was someone with a longer term contract, at least three years. I agree that picking up Charles could be good, but understand you would likely lose her in the next expansion draft, or keep her and lose Dantas.

My prediction is that if the Fever sign Tina Charles they will end up regretting it. That's been the case at every stop after Connecticut.

Eh, I don’t think NY regrets it. They had some great seasons with her there, they just imploded in the playoffs every time.

Charles had the unforunate timing of playing in NY and coinciding with the Lynx Dynasty. NY finished 1st overall in 2015 but lost in the ECF. The next 2 seasons only Minnesota and LA were winning the championship so I agree, NY definitely doesn't regret signing her. They just didn't have the 2nd or 3rd "great" player to help Charles out.

You guys know different Liberty fans than I do.
The Liberty didn't even make the playoffs in half of Charles' seasons and never faced the Lynx or the Sparks in the playoffs when she was there.

...so you realize that literally only 2 veteran players in the entire league are signed past 2025 right now, right? And "at least" three years means you're only talking about 2024 rookies.

Never said they faced either team. I was just making a point that she was never going to win a title in NY while playing there but made them relevant.

How many all-stars were on those teams besides Charles?

So pleased to get to see more Kelsey in Indiana. She’s a gem.

I'm glad for Fever fans that she is returning, but I am also surprised - seems she was saying farewell at the end of the season.

Should have been the Valkyries. Kate Martin and Clark coming back to play would have probably required the football stadium to satisfy demand.

Three-time WNBA champion Natasha Howard will sign with the Indiana Fever as a free agent, sources told Alexa Philippou.

NaLyssa Smith now available to anyone who wants a great athlete who can't guard a parked car.

Exactly the right move for the Fever. Howard brings defense, veteran leadership, and experience winning - all three things this team was missing and needed. Homerun signing.
