That's exactly what she's doing right now. |

I personally think it would be hilarious if Bueckers refused to play in Dallas because they stole the North Stars or something like that. Like, nothing to do with the Wings organization but a personal vendetta against the city. |
I refuse to play for the Wings, 'cause fuck Jerry Jones!

When I go team by team, I struggle to locate a contender she may want to play with who would have a better package than Satou for NaLyssa and the #8. It could be dicey if they demand Lexie.
New York, Minnesota, Las Vegas, Seattle and Phoenix seem interesting but I can’t seem to come up with a package that doesn’t disrupt the core that is better than Indiana’s package.

If the Wings core Sabally, and she doesn't play, does the core designation carry over until she does serve her time in Dallas?

The problem with putting together a package for Sabally is you don't really know what you are going to get. When she plays, she is great, but she has only played one even close to full season in her five years. I don't want the Fever giving up too much for a player you can't rely on.

Dallas Wings signed Jaelyn Brown to a training camp contract » Accepted reserved qualifying offer
Dallas Wings cored Satou Sabally » Core service: (2025)
From Alexa Philippou - "Expect the Dallas Wings to officially core Satou Sabally today. Sabally has already announced she has played her final game for Dallas, and that she and the Wings are looking to find her a new home.
She joins Vegas' Kelsey Plum as stars who've been cored by their teams so far"

I guess Richyyy doesn't come around here any more ...
Still wondering what happens to the core designation if Sabally opts not to play.

The more I think about the Satou situation, the more I discount both New York and Indiana as likely landing spots. These teams aren’t going to be interested in risking assets for a player who has this injury track record. These two franchises see themselves as 2025 title contenders and there is plenty of lower risk options to build out their rosters that won’t require movement of key pieces like Laney-Hamilton or Hull. I also don’t see Indiana being excited to drop the 8 pick knowing that it’s likely they have an even higher pick next year when they move into the top four of the league (presumably).
Dallas is likely going to be looking to shop out a lot of their roster. I expect that they will key on the #1 pick, Arike, and Maddy as the building blocks.
Satou would be a great get for Atlanta and could help them put together a nice starting 5 if they brought back Tina but without a first rounder, this feels like a no-go.
Satou would be great in Phoenix but how does the return of Sophie Cunningham and a draft pick feel to Curt and Chris?
Satou to Las Vegas for Plum means a third team would need to be involved. This actually has some merit to it, but the complexity grows quite a bit.
I expect Dallas to shop McCowan hard. She’s not a smart player and I don’t feel the fit for the new Wings but I also don’t feel a clear buyer for what Tea is selling. Her statistics indicate that she’s a known quantity with zero upside. Her offensive rebounding is likely her best asset. Perhaps Connecticut would take her if things fall apart and they are trying to max out their roster with the best they can do. Perhaps Atlanta plans to shoot a ton of threes and think she can clean up some of the misses. She’s an odd piece because she doesn’t really move the ball much. She’s a pretty efficient black hole.

How much value would Satou or Plum have on one year max deals? You cannot really trade much for them not knowing if they stay more than one year, but Dallas and LV are going to want value for trading those players away. Add in the expansion drafts the next two years and it seems foolish to trade any value for players you cannot keep or to add depth that disappears in the next expansion draft. What would you give for Jewell Lloyd? I don't think I would offer more than a second round pick and a deeper bench player for any of them in the current market and with expansions upcoming.

"Arlington, TX (Jan. 24, 2025) – The Dallas Wings have named Lauryn Turner as their new Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, bringing over 25 years of experience in operational leadership, strategic growth, and commercial success within the sports industry. Turner will begin her role with the team later this month and will report to Wings CEO and Managing Partner Greg Bibb."

NaL Smith and Carrington finally playing together.
Connecticut doesn’t seem to have much for post players.
I’m wondering if Mabrey will ask for a trade. It’s kinda karma on her to bail on Chicago when they needed her the most, and now she’s on clearly the most disastrous team of the year.

The more college ball I watch, the more I think Miles is the better fit for Dallas than Bueckers
So what can Dallas get from Seattle for a pick swap?

You have to be sure both are in the draft.
They won't take much of a pay cut, if any, if they stay in college. And the new CBA might be friendlier to those on rookie deals.
