Qualifiers will be played starting in November. Czech Republic, Germany, and Italy host tournament groups with Greece hosting a group and the knockout stage.
Not a terrible draw for Great Britain, although they slipped into a spot where they would be the highest seeded team in their group so it was not going to be insurmountable. |

Yes, have to admit my reflex response to this draw was "holy shit, we were seeded?" rather than responding to the teams. We're capable of getting out of that group, but as usual a lot will depend on who actually shows up to play for us. And I'm dreading the ever-encroaching day when Fagbenle decides she's had enough.
We do now have the old Russian advantage of having the likely core of the national team all on the same club team, though. That could help. |

When do we know what groups play where? I seek a return to the land of my mother's people and this is as good an excuse as any.

The groups in the big image above are the qualifiers, where everyone plays everyone else in their group home and away. But if you mean which teams play in which country for the final tournament in 2025, that draw won't happen until at least mid-February 2025. |

I guess Dennis Schroder is not in charge of selecting Germany's team as both Satou and Nyara have been called to the squad for the first qualifying window:

I am surprised that they are going with 13 and surprised that they are bringing Bessoir in for games that only have world ranking implications, although it would be good practice if they have already confirmed that she will be available in the Olympic qualifiers. |

Absolute travesty of a finish from Great Britain today, at the end of a pretty poorly coached and played game throughout. 10 seconds left, Sweden inbounding up by two points. Great Britain... defend. No real pressure, absolutely no attempt to foul, Sweden meander about a bit while looking understandably surprised, clock runs out, Sweden win by two. Can only guess that Chema Buceta decided to settle for a two-point loss, playing the points-difference game in the first contest of a home-and-away round-robin group. First game of six. Chose to lose by two rather than give themselves a shot at the win while maybe losing by four instead. Criminal.
Also left Fagbenle on the bench for the entire remainder of the first half after she picked up two fouls in the opening six minutes. That was bad enough, on a roster with desperately minimal talent.
I hope we manage to squeak past Estonia on Sunday. I wouldn't put much money on it. |
