Thank you. Just because the hand gestures were the same, doesn't mean the same situation occurred. Reese is totally over the top with the crown and the trash talk and even her interviews are just laced with arrogance. Is Clark a saint? No! Absolutely not. Is Reese totally and utterly ridiculous? Yes. Does she make herself look bad? Yes. Has she vilified herself? Yup. I find her impossible to root for and I think this behavior could bite her when she gets to the W. Can you imagine her walking into a veteran locker room and acting like that? LOL

Really!
Yeah, I gotta say: Angel - for whom I rooted all season - has gone from Amazing to Asshole in just one game. Razz

I also found her commentary on some interview absurd: she said (and I paraphrase) "I wanted this for all the girls that look like me." Yaa....cuz there's hardly ANY in basketball these days. Rolling Eyes

In the age of NIL, it’s all about clickbait. What can I do to get more hits to my Twitter, my IG, my Snapchat, Cuz, now all the hits on social media translate to money.

Reese loves attention doesn’t she?

Lol, we spend YEARS complaining that not enough eyes are on the women’s game and it’s players, then criticize Angel Reese for being visible and celebrating her visibility and celebrity. Okay 👌🏻

Two things can be true. We want and welcome more coverage, but when we get it, it's also acceptable for people to call out her assholish behavior, because it's what it is. She has set herself up for this. If you're going to act like she does and give the answers that she does, laced with arrogance, you bet your bottom dollar she should expect both reactions, positive and negative.

Give her all the attention and write all the stories, but it really is ok that people have different reactions to her. Personally, I find her to be completely over the top(it really is the crown that does it for me), and I would never want her on a team I root for; and that's perfectly fine.

First of all, congrats on your team's 'ship. They earned it.

(Just) "for being visible and celebrating her visibility and celebrity" is NOBODY's point here. Visibility and celebrity comes by various ways and in various forms: Jesus Christ, Donald Trump, Albert Einstein, Hitler, etc. There are DIFFERENCES in how that's achieved.

I'm hoping she gets past this immature egocentricity, and develops into the star she OUGHTTA be.

I like her. The WNBA could use her spice. I don’t think her antics are terribly different than say Shakira Austin.

She's learned from her coach. Mulkey obviously loves to be noticed.

My comment was more aimed at the response of her celebrating reaching a million followers on Instagram.

I agree with how different people respond to her in different ways. It would be boring if everyone loved her, just as it would be boring if everyone played with the same stoicism of Boston and Fudd. Different strokes for different folks; don't yuck someone else's yum; etc.

Her teammates at LSU seem to like her; and I have had a few run-ins with her on campus, all of which have been great. She isn't everyone's cup of tea, but she's found a home in the bayou and I am thrilled to have her for at least one more year.

Thank you! It's been amazing to see an entire city that, usually, only cares about a certain sport played on turf really show up and show out for WBB. Mulkey has breathed so much life into the program and the university.

Let's get one thing straight though, UConn is my team and I hope I get to see Mulkey ripping her jacket off on the sidelines in anguish at next year's FF. Laughing

Same reason as any other star player on a team. I was just pointing out that she didn’t call CC a hoe & it is not fair to her to say she did.

I love how Angel is getting backlash but even Lobo was laughing on air when CC was waving off a player on SC Rolling Eyes

Ummm....I *think* you mighta missed Blaase's point: Angel's talking all about the whole 'it takes a team effort', but she's hogging all the media attention in a rather self-centered way to make it about HER. I just chalk it up to her youthful hubris. She'll fix it.

I didn’t miss Blaase20 point. Angel is getting NIL deals because she is LSU Star player.
