GO IOWA!!
Also, thank you, Shades, for all the game threads with the helpful links! I imagine that's a huge effort, and it's greatly appreciated.

Will Iowa have enough left in the tank, physically and emotionally, after last night?

Good point.
I picked Iowa to upset USC on Friday and going with Iowa again Sunday, but this does give me pause because it happens in sports often, especially with such a short turnaround for this game and the emotional draining hoopla, praise and interviews.
Yes, thanks again to Shades!

I believe Coach Bluder will have them ready. They’ve played with focus, true to their style & with a team first mentality. They’re not going down without a fight, imo.

I think back to some of the big Final Four upsets. Mississippi State over UConn in 2017, Notre Dame over UConn in 2011, Stanford over UConn in 2008, etc; and yet it seems the team that pulled off the Final Four shocker comes up short in the championship. Sans the 2018 Notre Dame team.

I'm too late to contribute to the poll, but add +1 for Iowa! GO HAWKEYES!

I think of LSU as SCar lite. Both are below average from 3pt range and heavily emphasize paint play, rebounding, putbacks and defense. But LSU does not have nearly the size and depth of SCar, Angel's crafty skills aside.
Hence, if Iowa can beat SCar, they should be able to beat LSU even easier, especially if their 3pt bombardment percentage returns.
However, the Winningest Woman is a better coach than Staley, LSU shows very effective defense on occasion, and very little has gone to script this season. Hoping for a clean, competitive and entertaining game. |

I’m not sure if I love Sue’s outfit or hate it.
Edit: who sang the National anthem?

It's better than the puke green jacket from the semis, but that's damning with the faintest of praise.

3 baskets for Iowa, the result of steals by Marshall, Martin and Czinano.

Refs making an appearance early - Iowa with 4 fouls to LSU's 0, no travel called on that one Reese drive.

6 fouls for Iowa, 1 for LSU.
Then Reese pulls down the Iowa player and bitches about the foul.

Clark is going to need to get some of her teammates shots/her teammates are going to have to make some plays; launching threes is not a full game sustainable model.

LSU isn’t letting her get to the basket the way SC did.

There are some other talented passers on Iowa. Been watching Clark.
Didn't Williams travel?
Shooting is remarkable!

LSU should keep going to Carson.
Mulkey has that strict 2 fouls and a player is on the bench rule. That might kill bthe in this game.

Isn’t that the player you compared to “watching paint dry”?

If either team starts to play defense or starts to miss their shots, will be interesting to see what happens. LSU in particular is shooting well out of their minds.
There were two or three possessions where Iowa had two post players on the floor and yet Clark was matched up on one of LSU's, through no crafty design by LSU. Not good coaching by Bluder.

Iowa clearly isn’t going to be able to get away with leaving LSU unguarded on the perimeter like it did on Friday.

Iowa has been sloppy. LSU has been fantastic.
The size difference between DT/Sue and Dirk/Pau is hilarious
