Marquette forces an timeout from USF as they go up 26-17 with about 4 minutes to go in the second quarter.

No! I've enjoyed Marquette' defense and have been impressed with La Chapell

I just wish Marquette had a little bit of a bigger lead now 😀.

Rose Nkumu (#3) is a great defender for MU.

Their team defense is impressive. They play really well and know when/where to rotate and the trust they have is great. A tough team on that end. They really haven't let USF get many open looks at all.

hopefully that defense looks good next year at the Barn lol

Ha ha - speculation I’ve heard is that Minnesota wouldn’t be willing to pay the $ needed to hire Duffy.

I'm really surprised. I thought this was a terrible matchup for Maquette but it's been close throughout.

It’s not looking great for them now though. USF up 2 with the ball with 20 secs to go

There's still a chance! They have been playing some good inbound defense here and USF has no timeouts left!

King missing a layup immediately followed by Marotta fouling out was not good for MU Sad

I thought Hare’s 3 was going to go in at the end for MU but it did not. USF does what it needs to do and wins 67-65 in OT.

Sorry about that, Marquette Fan. I was pulling for your team. Disappointing.

Thanks - they had their chances but just couldn’t get it done. I feel the worst for Chloe Marotta whose great MU career ends with that game.

I realistically knew they had no shot against South Carolina in the second round but had really hoped they could win this game.

Bummed for Marquette too. King couldn’t buy a bucket today.

Yep - 4-21 today. Karlen also was off today and she’s usually their 3rd highest scorer.

Sorry Marquette drew this matchup, because they might have otherwise gone farther. FGCU has the potential to go Sweet 16, depending on who they run into next.
