LSU's Reese leads way, 11 new players break into updated women's college basketball transfer rankings

This article is pretty much only talking about P5/AP ranked teams. Thare are others just below this level that you could make a pretty strong argument for, like James Madison's Kseniia Kozlova, who transferred from Middle Tennessee and is now starting and scoring 18-20 PPG.

Reese is obviously a very talented player but if these players are being ranked according to their play this season then the rankers believe that the level of competition faced is irrelevant and a player in the Colonial Conf. putting up great numbers can't be excluded. (Except they are.)

JMU is in the Sun Belt now. Please try to keep up.

I mean, you’re assuming the reviewers know that other conferences exist.

Wow. You do realize Linkster was supporting your argument, right? Just FYI, not everybody cares about James Madison University the way you do. Shocking, I know! Rolling Eyes

That probably overstates it. I suspect they're saying to themselves "she's playing really well at James Madison, but would she even be starting, much less scoring 20, at LSU or Indiana or Arizona or Louisville or Virginia Tech, etc." In JMU's one big game vs UNC, Kozlova had zero pts in 31 minutes. It's not a ridiculous question to ask. They included transfers to both USF and Gonzaga, but the standard is probably tougher for non-P5 players and they don't get as many chances to prove it.

JMU's game against UNC was their second game out of the gate. If they played the Tarheels today, the way both teams are playing, the Dukes would have a very good chance of winning. You are not taking into account how things develop over time.

You are not taking into account how things develop over time. Or, as Pat said so often, it's not about how you play in November, it's about how you play in March. If Kozlova continues at her present pace, she could possibly be in the running, along with Kiki Jefferson, for Sun Belt POY. (Jefferson was picked preseason)

I don't know what makes you think JMU would beat UNC today.

To start with their game was JMU's 5th, not 2nd.

More importantly, the teams JMU has played since then are all mids and have a combined record of 45-59.

It's no wonder the big Russian can look good against the teams JMU is playing now but got completely shut down against UNC. And the same thing would happen if they played again today.

Yep, UNC has lost 3 straight.........to Michigan, FSU, and VaTech. What do you seriously think JMU's record would be playing those three opponents in succession?

I've watched both teams in action. You undoubtedly have not. You just like to pick fights. I'm done with you.

The transfer portal decimated the Terps (MD), but so far it looks like transfers Abby Myers and Eliza Pinzan are complementing Diamond Miller and Shy Sellers nicely.

Hopefully their one year with the Terps give the new freshmen a year of learning and growth to move this team higher in the standings next year.
