With the start of August and the dreadful news about Paige Bueckers, I thought it was time to begin a new thread on the subject. I don't have anything more to add at this time other than well wishes for her.

Jr. Tali Notoa from Oklahoma State is no longer on their roster. Could really flourish in the right system.

Damn it. Huge blow for Kansas State. She was big for my fantasy team last season, super fun to watch.

Very sad to see this. But I'm glad she says she's coming back the following year. I thought this year might be her last and that she could really mature her game in preparation for the pros. Anyway, hope she heals completely and can do that next year!

Vanderbilt's Kaylon Smith is out for the season with a torn Achilles. Iyana Moore and Jordyn Cambridge were already out for the year with an ACL and Achilles, respectively, leaving nine players to start the year, three of whom are freshmen.

Why does Vandy have a black cloud over their athletic center year after year?

Brady was expected by some to be UConn's best all-around big this season, even though only a freshman, with some comparisons being made to her being a bigger Morgan Tuck or even a shorter A'ja Wilson. Without Bueckers and Brady, it will be very difficult for UConn to be Final Four material. |

@OregonWBB
Sedona Prince will undergo season-ending elbow surgery to repair a torn ligament.
Prince will exhaust her remaining eligibility to focus on recovery before pursuing a professional career.

Shame for Sedona. She's dealt with so much injury. Hoping she heals fully and has a full professional career.....

JMU PG Caroline Germond suffered an ankle injury in a collision with a Longwood player during the game Thursday night, Mov.17, and had to be helped off the court. It is not known at this time how severe the injury is but it looked ugly. JMU's other true PG is a freshman.

UConn starting center Dorka Juhasz broke her thumb in the Texas game and will be out "at least three games."
This brings UConn's healthy and trusted rotation down to seven players, or six if Caroline Ducharme can't play because of her persistent "stiff neck". |

They are uninjured and available but not trusted to play competitive minutes. DeBerry so far has been a disappointing bust and Bettencourt is a completely unknown quantity.
Juhasz had been averaging 10 ppg, 10 rpg, 3.5 apg, and 2 spg. Three games ago (for her) against N.C. State she broke her wrist on the same hand, which kept her out of the Final Four games last season with a summer-long recovery. |
