Who's the favorite for Finals MVP, Gray or Wilson?

I'm down with Chelsea right now. But I can't argue with anyone who thinks it's A'ja.

I would give the slight edge to Chelsea but I see A'ja winning it. DPOY, MVP, and now FMVP. It's a good look.

Gray. Wilson says it's Gray. Trust the MVP.
Remember it was Coop who won Finals MVP when Swoopes won MVP for the season.

Gray easily wins it if we consider the entirety of the playoffs, but the question was finals MVP. After 2 games, it's Wilson, because Gray's stats have been human in these games and Wilson has performed very well.
Gray
Shooting: 18/33 55%
3P shooting: 4/13 31%
Assists: 5.5
Turnovers: 5
Rebounds: 2.5
Steals: 1.5
Blocks: 0
Points: 21
Wilson
Shooting: 16/24 67%
3P shooting: 0/3 0%
Assists: 0
Turnovers: 1
Rebounds: 10.5
Steals: 1
Blocks: 2.5
Points: 25
Gray has had a bunch of turnovers (5/game) and some have occurred at inopportune times (end of game 1). Her assist/turnover ratio is barely above 1, which isn't great for a point gawd. And her 3-point shooting percentage (31%) is half what it was in the earlier games.

I don't think this game is over before it starts.
A lot of the result will depend on how rough the refs let it be. If they let AT be a bulldozer and send her to the free throw line every time she runs over somebody, it will be a close game. Also AT needs help from a couple of other starters...whichever ones can step up. On the other side, they have all been impressive in this series, but they haven't been so impressive in EVERY game this year (including one previous loss to CT), so they need one more good 'un to finish it off.

I agree--game 2 was one of the worst games I've seen the Sun play. I mean, besides Courtney Williams and perhaps AT, who played well? They almost have to be better in game 3. They were good enough to beat the Sky, they play hard and physical (except Bonner, who should be on the shortest leash imaginable and sent to the bench early unless she wakes up), and they're home.
If the Aces just think they can throw their jerseys out on the court and sweep this series, I think Connecticut will give them a hard dose of reality. But as myrtle said, some more Sun players need to step up.

They discussed this game on NBA today with Ros and Richard Jefferson.
I wish they didn't refer to their wnba coverage on this show as the "Wnba corner" but I'll take the coverage.

Chelsea got smacked in the face and called for the foul late in the game. She responded by hitting a dagger shot and muscling the ball out of Jonquel's hands. I don't think Chelsea is going to let anyone on her team sleep walk through this game. I'm sure her face is still smarting from that slap she took.
And that's why she's my MVP. It was the value of Chelsea taking that slap in the face and very bad call and turning it into a death dagger.
No arguing the call, no scowling, no tantrum. That slap HURT. But it hurt the Sun more. That is value - and the most valuable.

I’m hoping to see Becky and the Aces get their first championship tonight, but I think CT has too much heart to go down in a sweep. My guess is someone important on the Aces gets in foul trouble, and Bonner has a big game.

If this happens to end tonight, and I forget to check in over the next few days, thanks to all of you for being fans of the W.
I enjoy reading and occasionally participating in the conversation here, and wish you all a great offseason.

Becky has a habit of keeping her TO's in her pocket for too long.
