Carolyn Swords is indeed retiring and joining the Aces’ front office.
As an aside, the Aces’ Twitter account just retweeted an Epiphanny Prince highlight clip from EuroLeague. Could it be a sign that she’ll be re-signing? |
They have the cap room, but I'd assume they'd prefer to sign T. Young over Prince. With Swords retired, I wonder what Laimbeer's plan is for post help especially if Park isn't coming over this season. And there's the issue of whether Cambage plays this season.

She seemed like such a nice person, I’m happy for her! But I agree with her, it was her time to retire from the W.
Hmmmm I think Prince can still contribute off the bench.

I'm sad that Carolyn is retiring because she was my favorite active player and I have followed her career since she was a freshman at Boston College. Got to meet a couple of times and she was the epitome of friendliness and class.
I wish there'd been a shirt for her that I could buy. |

FYI, Lindsay Allen is listed on the Aces' roster. Aces currently situation:
PG: Plum/Robinson/Allen?
SG: McBridge/Rodgers
SF: McCoughtry/JYoung
PF: Hamby/Musina
C: Wilson/Park?

Wonder why she hasn't signed yet. She's probably only going to sign for one year, so that she can get to the supermax threshold for next offseason, so it's not like there's much to negotiate. |

Maybe since her season in China just got canceled, she probably just arrived in Vegas this week. Between her, Chelsea Gray & Tina Charles, we have to wonder what the delays are between the three?

She's definitely been in and around the US for a while. Pretty sure I saw a picture of her in LA, and at the general NBA All-Star Game nonsense in Chicago. Gray and Charles make more sense to me. LA have been flirting with the edge of the cap and making moves, so giving themselves some room by holding off on Gray made sense, plus she just started playing in France. Charles we all obviously know there have been complications. The Cambage situation seems very straightforward, unless maybe she's considering taking more than one year and hasn't made up her mind. |

why would they sign Lindsay Allen? unless they plan to trade Plum? for what?
And why would Allen sign here unless they planned to trade Plum? She could go someplace where they actually need a PG. Here she's like the 4th option for PG.

Allen was a reserved player so she really didn't have any other choice.

She'll just get waived and get picked up by someone needing a backup PG.

LV does not have a first or second round pick and only signed Robinson for a year I could see Allen getting the 12th spot
Plum/Robinson/ Allen
McBride/ Rodgers
McCoughtry/J. Young
Wilson/Hamby/Musina
Cambage/Park
Maybe you want better options in the post but Wilson can play some 5 so in tight games and playoffs you can probably get by with Cambage Wilson and Hamby maybe even throw in some small ball options with McCOughtry at the 4.
Also Plum can play some 1 and some 2 so two other. Pg options when one has missed some games due to injury isn't the worst option. I am not sure J. Young is suited to the pg position 8n the w not yet anyway
So I am not saying it is a guarantee but I can see Allen making the roster even as currently constructed

Bill's also smart enough to know that there are teams that could use a Lindsay Allen and/or might realise that they really need a Lindsay Allen in training camp. So why release someone who could get you a second-round pick sometime in May?
Could get a little awkward if she shows up and wildly outplays DRob in camp, though. Robinson's the one they gave guaranteed cash to... |

Most likely.
Angel just ate up most of her minutes, J. Young last years #1 pick is probably also going to need to get some minutes at the SF spot to keep developing. There aren't a lot of minutes left for T. Young. I could see her getting signed if they can afford her (they probably do not need 3 PGs) but a big post might be more of a need at this point anyway.
