awhom111, I thought I read/heard somewhere that Breanna Stewart was heading overseas to play somewhere post-Olympic qualifying, but I can't find anything on that any more. Is that true or did I make it up? If true, who's she playing for? |

Olympic Champion Breanna Stewart joined UMMC
BC UMMC signed a contract with the USA national team forward Breanna Stewart. |

So is she only going to play in their regular competition? Maybe for the better so that she can ease back and get into gameshape with pressure

Man, UMMC’s owner must be rolling in dough. |
When you control Russia's copper, I guess that is a lot of pennies (possibly more than $5 Billion worth). Gotta appreciate his paranoia. I mean they have been upset in novel ways over the years, but nobody else has much money anymore so how many more players does he need? |

Maybe he mostly signed her so that nobody else could. The biggest threat to upset them in the latter stages of ELW or the Russian playoffs could've been one of the current better teams with a Stewart who by then has played herself into better shape.
On the bright side for Stewart, even besides the cash, is they're so loaded that there should be no reason to overplay her. Plenty of players to keep the rotation deep, and most games they'll be up by 20+ by halftime anyway. |

Any knowledge of why Dupree hasn’t played many games?
Any opinion on Hatar as a WNBA player?

Dupree did not sign until later in the season so I think she's pretty much played in every game since she's been there.
I suppose Hatar is worth a look, but she's pretty limited even at the top European level. Her height and size can bother other centers who are not used to it, but she's not much of a help defender due to lack of mobility. She's not much of a finisher and her offensive game is mainly facing up and shooting. Maybe she toughens McCowan up for a couple weeks and then flies back to Europe. |

I suppose Indiana spotted Hatar while scoping out Dupree on Euroleague broadcasts.

Does anyone have an idea of what happened to Alina Iagupova? She's an amazing baller but I noticed that she hasn't played the last few Euroleague games for Fener. National team duties? Seems like last year she kinda disappeared, as well.

Not national team duty as far as I know (3x3?). She has had homesickness issues in the past so that might be possible. One of the most brilliant players in the world when it's her day, but just not consistent enough to be a reliable star. |
Oh wow, thank you for the insight on her. When I've seen her I've been amazed at her talent and definitely didn't know about her lack of consistency and homesickness. I suppose that means it's unlikely that she'll make her way to the W. I was hoping that playing with Chelsea would sway her to come this way. Oh well...
