Virginia's Breyana Mason just became 32nd player at Virginia to score more than 1,000 point.
I checked ODU - they also have 32 players in its 1000 point club.
James Madison - no idea.
Liberty has 15.
Virginia Tech has 24.
Maryland, 32.
Mount St Mary's, 27.
George Mason, 18.
Radford, 21.
Richmond, 22.
George Washington, 31.
Georgetown, 23.
Longwood, 21.
West Virginia, 32.
So this led me to wonder ... who has the most and the fewest?
Cheers,
R-

Haley Smith just today, at her senior day game, became the 29th player in Colorado WBB history to reach the 1000 point mark.

The fewast will surely be a newer school - Florida Gulf Coast has 9 but I'm sure there are some less successful newer programs with fewer.

Pretty sure that Grand Canyon University has no 1000 point scorers, as they have very recently become Div 1.

Kia Nurse was the 42nd 1000 point scorer for UCONN on Jan. 25th of this year. Williams is 12-13 points away. Samuelson within 100-ish.

Michigan has 26. Thome should be there in the post-season, becoming just the third sophomore to do it at U-M (Flaherty was the 2nd).

I'm guessing among majors AzSU will be among the fewest. They typically have 4 or 5 players averaging around 10 points a game so it's hard for a player to score enough.

St. John's added the 23rd member of the 1000 club this year when Jade Walker hit the milestone. (Aliyyah Handford still awaits company in the 2000 club.)
Seton Hall is at 21, with the most recent being the record-breaking Tabatha Richardson-Smith last year.
Iona has 25, topped by Damika Martinez, who broke pretty much all the scoring records Iona and the MAAC had to offer at 2569- I think Aaliyah Robinson was the most recent (I think Joy Adams picked up her 1000th junior year).
LIU has 19 now, with Shanovia Dove hitting the milestone in February; Ashley Palmer sits alone in the 2000 club.
Fordham, if I'm reading their record book correctly, is up to 19 with Hannah Missry joining the club this year. They have two 2000-point scorers, Anne Gregory (from the way-way before times of the AIAW) and Jeanine Radice.
If anyone is interested in the 2K and up numbers, the NCAA keeps a list in the record book. (Stats from the way-way before times are also [url=http://fs.ncaa.org/Docs/stats/w_basketball_RB/2017/AIAW.pdf[/url] available.)

I can't remember if anyone did it this year (don't think so), but Ashley Morrissette joined the club last year and was Purdue's 30th player to score 1,000 points in their career.
Is 1,000 points still a big deal in today's game? I mean, it seems like every team plays about 30 games/year so if that were the case, a player would play 120 games. That would mean they would only have to average 8.3 pts/game over the course of their career, assuming they never had to miss a game. With so many games and the 3-point line, it seems as though this may not be as big of a deal as it once was.

Does Duke count them?
I don't know if there is a standard practice by schools regarding including the pre-transfer numbers by transfers in career numbers in their record books. Is there a uniform practice, or does it vary by school?
What if someone had, for example, enough steals in three years at school A to be the career record holder at school B the day she set foot on campus B as a grad transfer? Would school B recognize her as their career leader in steals before she ever played a game for them? Seems like an odd result, but I'm not sure there's a good alternative. For example if Plum had decided this year to be a grad transfer to Harvard to get an MBA, should Harvard and the rest of us ignore her career scoring record just because it's split between two schools?
I don't know how this works.
I was also wondering, Lyndsay Allen is about to become the ACC career assist record holder. Fortunately all four years were played in the ACC. What if ND had still been in the BE her freshman year, and only three years were in the ACC? Would the ACC recognize her career number as its record?

I believe they only count the amount at the institution. For example, Saudia Roundtree is counted as one of Georgia's 37 1,000 point club members (#36), but Georgia only recognizes what she scored while at Georgia. I know it is not apples to apples, because she first played at Kilgore and it isn't an NCAA Division I institution. However, I think the same rationale would be applied in the case of DI transfers.

Mercer has 25 1000 point scorers, three of whom crossed the 2000 point mark.
