I'd probably lop off January, Nurse, Peterson, McCall and Durr.

I still think Gabby Williams should be on the list but evidently that's not going to happen.

Add Tori Jankoska and Gabby Williams. Remove any seven of: Coffey, Davis, Durr, Epps, Greenwell, January, McCall, Nurse, Peterson.

Simpler method: Just have Plum, who will win, and 19 names picked from a hat.

I've added Alexis Prince to my draft prospect tracking list. Not sure if she's Top 20, but she's been overlooked by basically everybody. She only has 12 turnovers in 21 games as a starter. That translates to a 4:1 ato. Nice shooting percentages too.

What I'm thinking:

Lindsay Allen, Notre Dame
Kristine Anigwe, Cal
Monique Billings, UCLA
Jordin Canada, UCLA
Alaina Coates, South Carolina
Nia Coffey, Northwestern
Napheesa Collier, UConn

Allisha Gray, South Carolina
Alexis Jones, Baylor
Brionna Jones, Maryland
Erica McCall, Stanford
Kelsey Mitchell, Ohio State
Kelsey Plum, Washington

Alexis Prince, Baylor
Katie Lou Samuelson, UConn
Brianna Turner, Notre Dame
Shatori Walker-Kimbrough, Maryland
Sydney Wiese, Oregon State
Gabbv Williams, UConn
A'ja Wilson, South Carolina

Thoughts?

I don't think Alisha Gray belongs on the top 20 list. Not even close. One half of good play against Miss St doesn't make up for the games where she has been invisible.

I like Allisha Gray but agree she doesn't belong here. I'm also puzzled as to why A. Prince is on this list. I'm not a big Diamond fan but she belongs here ahead of either of these. And maybe Osahor. Her rebounding numbers are fantabulous. Tori Jankoska has gotten no hype but has been quietly excelling as well (by my statistical analysis for the fantasy game, she is #3 in the country). And maybe Alexis Peterson.

Top 20 is tough. Somebody you like is gonna get left out.
California might be over-represented here, so I would consider kicking McCall to the curb. I have a hard time stomaching Lexie Brown not being on the list. Who's carrying Duke this year besides the great coaching?

If you need a little hype on the list, I would understand DeShields over Prince. DeShields' stats aren't too impressive other than the 22 blocks for her position. That's pretty good.

I'm big on A/TO, which is why Gray and Prince move up my list. Both are very efficient players in terms of shooting percentage and both rebound reasonably well.

Osahor I need to think about more, as well as Jankoska.

Neither Prince nor Gray have enough assists to even qualify for the NCAA's ATO rankings. And Gray's ATO is under 2. Prince's is 3.3. But it's of questionable significance when you don't handle the ball or pass that much.

I agree with several of these other names being on there before Gray or Prince. Certainly Lexi Brown, and also Petersen, Jankoska and DeShields.

even though she's on my team, I had that thought too.

Brown & DeShields should definitely be on that list. I agree with others that the 2 I would replace would be Gray and Prince.

Brown would be on my top 25 list, but I fail to see how she belongs ahead of Jankoska, Peterson, or Osahor.

Well in terms of efficiency, I'd add that Brown recently hit 56 straight free throws, sixth longest streak in NCAA history, and an ACC record. Both Brown and Jankoska are over 90% (93.2 and 90.7% respectively).

My thoughts are: What ARE you thinking?? Shocked

Alexis Prince = NO
Alicia Gray = no
Erica McCall = no
Briana Turner = no (more)

Jankoska = YES
Deshields = ARE YOU NUTZ?
Osahar = probably

The problem with the dynamics of a list like this is that there's the assumption, when the list is made, that you've got ALL the best on it. As time passes, THINGS CHANGE. Lindsey Allen and Brianna Turner are NOT the dominating, unquestionably huge forces that they were a year ago. Neither is Nina Davis. Some of the (former) best are now being outshone by kids like Jankowska or Osahar. And Diamond.

Alexis Jones, Baylor
Brionna Jones, Maryland
Kelsey Mitchell, Ohio State
Chantel Osahor, Washington
Kelsey Plum, Washington

Katie Lou Samuelson, UConn
Brianna Turner, Notre Dame
Shatori Walker-Kimbrough, Maryland

I would substitute Peterson for Jankoska but otherwise, good list. These things are difficult. Good job, Clay.

Seriously, tho....when all is said and done, (mostly) nobody remembers the entire list, and heck, I'd be hard-pressed to tell you who the WINNERS were for the last 10 years. But my Right-Brained thinking longs to see kids like Chantel and Tori get some accolades....THEY'LL remember the list forever, if they get on it.

Some numbers to consider, Clay.

Alexis Peterson, Syracuse
24.2 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 7.2 apg, 2.25 A/TO, 43 percent from the floor, 37.8 percent from three (59 made threes in 22 games to date)
Syracuse is currently 36th in the RPI rankings.

Lexie Brown, Duke
18.2 ppg, 3.2 rpg, 3.2 apg, 47.5 percent from the floor, 39.0 percent from three (48 made threes), and 93.2 percent from the line (on 4 free throw attempts per game).
Duke is currently 11th in RPI rankings.

I would include both Peterson and Brown.

My problem with Peterson is her inconsistancy. She recently went out and scored 45 pts on only 23 shots ( and 19 free throws) in a win over NCSt, and then shot her team right out of the next game - an upset loss to GaTech - by throwing up a whopping 37 shots while making only 10 of them (2 for 16 from the arc).

If you're going to get credit for the one, you've got to accept blame for the other.

She certainly has talent. She needs better judgment sometimes.

WOW who would take 37 shots in a game? But if her teammates and coach are ok with that she might as well keep shooting. She reminds me of Andrea Riley, but without all the nasty Riley would play with.
