Interesting difference between the Men and Women the last few years.

On the Men's side, while the series started off with a 10-0 series win streak for the ACC, over the last 7 years, the Big 10 has a 5-0-2 advantage.

However, on the Women's side, the ACC has a 6-0-3 advantage over the Big 10 (only played the previous 9 years, obviously). So over the last 7-9 years, the Big 10 has won among the men and the ACC has won among the women.

ACC leads 4-2 after day 1 of the challenge.

Eight more games tomorrow.

11/30 - Final Scores

MICHIGAN STATE at Syracuse - Syracuse, 75-64
Florida State at MINNESOTA - Florida State, 75-61
PENN STATE at Boston College - Penn State, 60-56
PURDUE at Pittsburgh - Purdue, 67-61
Wake Forest at ILLINOIS - Wake Forest, 79-70
Notre Dame at IOWA - Notre Dame, 73-58

Well, I got one wrong, and I am perfectly fine with it seeing as it was Purdue winning on the road. When I first saw that 5 of 6 winners were road teams, I was surprised but then when you actually look at it, the road teams that won (with the exception of Purdue) were clearly the better teams in their match-ups.

I will say that I'm a little surprised that Notre Dame didn't win by more vs Iowa.

I'm not really. Iowa's scrappy and physical, and has shooters. Nobody's likely to blow them out. Their three losses are to a good SDSt team by two, UCLA by 12, and ND by 15. I think Massey had it as only a 13 pt spread and it was at home.

Given the state of the B10, Iowa certainly looks like a top half team.

ND has only ten players suited up, so it will be interesting how they fair against UConn, but then again UConn does not have a full team suiting up...

Iowa platoon subs so I would guess ND has had to learn to conserve its energy on the court with only ten players...they were up by 14 or so in the first quarter and then Iowa settled down and played more of their game...

ND has had stretches were they let off of the gas peddle...they did that in the WNIT as well against Washington and UW-Green Bay...they are still a fun team to watch, and Iowa NEVER quits as a team in a game.

Everyone brings their A game to Notre Dame, UConn, Tennessee, and a few other teams. Nonetheless, Iowa is not to be sneezed at. I've watched a couple of their other games and they're streaky but good. They could be *very* good come March, absent any serious injuries.

PSU + BC was a coin flip, so good for them.
Purdue > Pitt is a bit of a surprise.
Mich St winning @ Syracuse, has to be a decent sized upset.

Get to see tonight what Maryland is made of
and Ohio State without last game's dead legs.

Michigan State did not upset Syracuse. The Orange beat the Spartans by 11.

Penn State is far better than BC, who looks horrible this year, so that game was not a coin flip in my book. But I was surprised by Purdue winning @Pitt.

Regarding Pitt, Yacine diop has been out the whole season so far I believe. She is one of their main contributors. I would say that would be one of the reasons. Glad to see former Blue Demon Brandi Harvey Carr getting some playing time!

She seems to me to be a LOT smaller and in much better shape and moving much than I recall her being before. Is my recollection correct?

I'm so done with Joanne Boyle. She had Virginia up by 18 in 3rd quarter (44-26) and Northwestern went on 43-16 run to win the game, 69-60.

Joanne kept on saying that the team is young for the last SIX years. If she can't win more games in ACC, she needs to be fired.

Monster game for Coffey and huge comeback for NW.
Maryland's freshmen got the powah.
Ohio State just about has it figured out, down Mavunga and Harper available soon.
