UConn plays FSU, Baylor, Texas, Notre Dame, Ohio St and Maryland before New Year's Eve. Three are true road games; three are at various locations in Connecticut. How many of those six games will UConn win?

Nov 14 - FSU - Tallahassee
Nov 17 - Baylor - Storrs
Dec 4 - Texas - Mohegan Sun
Dec 7 - Notre Dame - South Bend
Dec 19 - Ohio St - Hartford
Dec 29 - Maryland - College Park

Am I a bad human if I hope UConn crushes Baylor and Ohio State, while losing to Florida State and Maryland?

UCONN could lose every single one of those games... now will they, I doubt it.

and conversely they could also win every one.

Art, would you consider updating your OP to specify exactly where each of the games is being played? These all could be close calls and venue could be a deciding factor. I know I can research this for myself, but it would be easier for everyone if the data were in the OP.

Personally I think both 0 and 6 are highly unlikely.

Glenn's requested info is now included in the first post.

My reaction is that the location is probably most significant in the Baylor game, since they are probably one of the most likely of the six to win, but they will have to do it in Gampel. If there was an intimidation factor, it's probably a lot higher.

Has Kim ever played in Gampel? If not, the entertainment value of just the coaches has the possibility of being quite high. Who will put on the bigger show? Will there be technicals? I wouldn't want to be an official in that game. Will Kim break out the gold lamé?

I guessed 4.
Notre Dame has a good shot at home. And the others all have at least a vague notion of a chance so I thought at least one of them would come thru. UConn will be UConn, but it seems like it will be by committee this year, rather than one superstar who can take over whenever she wants. That may leave them a bit more vulnerable in tight situations (of which they haven't experienced many). And the Kim show is bound to be entertaining.

But it is entirely possible for a sweep and that would be sad for all us wannabes.

I was going to make this very OP, but I don't know how to do polls. Embarassed

I'll guess 3.

I think 3--Baylor, Ohio State, and either Texas or Notre Dame.

I went with one loss, thinking it could be Notre Dame in South Bend or Baylor in Storrs.

The question posed is WINS. You think they'll beat those teams and lose to FSU and Maryland?

Really? I think a LOT of people outside of Storrs would be surprised by that.

Maybe you've been hanging around the Boneyard too much.

You just click the New Topic button and then go down to the bottom and fill in your poll question in the box that says "Poll question". You then fill in your first answer in the box that says "Poll option". To get a line for your second answer, you click the button that says "Add option". You keep clicking the "Add option" button until you have lines for all your answers.

I think the maximum number of answers allowed is 15.

You also have to fill in something in the usual text posting box for it all to work.

We all have hopes, and yours is just as legit as any.......BUT, I don't think this is the year for "crushings" by UConn or most anyone else..........This is the year for competitive play for virtually everyone.

They certainly "crushed" us last year by something like 100 to 56, but December 19th I expect one hell of a game.

Yes, you are. But we already KNEW that. Laughing

I'm gonna play blind odds here and say 3 is the number they will lose. I'll stick my neck out a bit further and predict it will be losses to OH-St, Baylor and ND. But I'm hoping for more. Shocked (Does that make ME a bad person!? Razz)

Should we redo this based on tonight?

One win down. Only five games left. UConn will beat Texas. UConn will probably beat OhSt.

UConn will lose to Baylor. UConn should lose to Notre Dame.

Maryland is a complete unknown, but I'm thinking UConn will win.

So I'm now expecting 4-2 for the six. That's better than I predicted preseason.

Strange thing is, UConn looks about like I expected. Tonight confirmed my thoughts. It's not that they look better. It's that several of the six look weaker than I thought they would. And it's not that the talent is less. It's the quality of play.

No redo necessary for me. I believe I voted three, and FSU was one of the three for me.

While UConn can't handle Baylor's size, other strong teams have wilted in Gampel before (albeit usually against a better UConn team than this).

I wouldn't be surprised to see a Baylor rout, but a UConn win wouldn't shock me either.
