The West beat the East 100-94 in the Jordan Brand Classic game yesterday, the last All-American game of the season. HERE is the box score.

Erin Boley (Notre Dame) was the dominant star and MVP of the East, scoring 21 points and hauling in 15 rebounds.

Joyner Holmes (Texas) was the MVP of the West, scoring 16 and rebounding 12. Along with Holmes, two other Texans contributed significantly for the West: Lauren Cox (Baylor) with 14/15 and Amber Ramirez (TCU) with 23/2.

Unlike many high school All-American games that end up being dominated by multiple chucking guards, this one seems to have featured post players -- with one guard, Amber Ramirez, standing out as the guard scorer.

Oh, there were still plenty of guards throwing up lots of bad and ill-advised shots. Slocum, Gondrezick, Dangerfield were all in double digits in shots taken. They just didn't make many of them.

Beyond Boley, Cox and Holmes who were all impressive, I was really impressed by Leaonna Odom who had a really smart, well played, well-rounded game.

Amber Ramirez can definitely shoot. She has a really nice shot and can hit from just about anywhere. And she is definitely not shy about it. My guess is she's going to set records at TCU for shots attempted. The trick will be if she can also set records for shots made. I expect at TCU she's going to face a lot of box-and-one.

There's more commentary on this game in the Gameday forum.

Thanks for the boxscore, Glen!
