South Carolina picks up 3-star G Victoria Patrick out of Florida. As Raoul (https://twitter.com/Raoul_000) points out, that probably means that highly ranked PG Tyasha Harris (IN) is probably choosing either Iowa or Michigan State.

Apparently, it meant nothing, as PG Tyasha Harris signs with South Carolina, filling a position of need for Dawn and the Gamecocks. Great pickup!

With the addition of both 5* PGs Bradshaw and Harris, USC should have the PG position secured for a while. Both are also comfortable as CGs as well as PGs, and Gray can also be effective bringing up the point in limited situations. But I also like how Harris, Bradshaw, and Harrigan are solid play-makers and scorers. Add them to Wilson, Coates, Davis, and Gray, and hopefully USC will not be limited next season offensively...

Harris Gray Davis Wilson Coates should make for a pretty big line up. |

So are you predicting the freshmen will push Cuevas to the bench?

Unless the staff finds a post JUCO or graduate transfer to help replace the losses of Imovbioh and White, then I would expect the team to go to the more "smaller" lineup where the focus is more towards the guards and perimeter players.
Cuevas still has a role on the team, and could be the starting PG when next season starts. Staley played her and Sessions together on the same floor at times, especially earlier in the season when the team still had Kaydra Duckett and Shay Colley on the active roster. Cuevas is similar to Sessions in that both are fierce 1-on-1 defenders that can pick pockets and intercept passing lanes for steals, and when the staff wanted/needed more perimeter defensive pressure, they played both to positive results.
So Cuevas can play as a combo guard, albeit a pretty small one. I can see her, Harris, Bradshaw, and possibly veteran Tiffany Davis playing at times as BOTH the 1 and 2: Gray, who is a physical 6-0 guard after all with great rebounding abilities, can slide up to the 3, and 6-2 Kaela Davis slide up to the 4, with Wilson taking the 5 spot, in times when Coates needs to rest or is in foul trouble. Also, Gray and K. Davis can slide up to the 3 and 4 spots to rest Wilson as well, although we do also have 6-2 Miki Harrigan to help there.
Wilson subbing for Coates wouldn't provide the "back-to-the-basket" post presence that Coates does on the offensive end of the floor, but 6-5 is 6-5 and she's always been a big rebounding and shot-blocking presence just the same on the opposing end. If somehow USC does find another post player before the season begins, then the lineup can stay more along traditional lines, but Coach Staley fielded NCAAT teams at USC when the only "post presence" players she had were a couple of 6-0 SFs, and those teams were guard-dominated teams that were top-5 in the nation in scoring defense with their perimeter pressure. So I can see Staley's guard-mentality at work here......
