The 2015-2016 Big West season has certainly not started out as expected. UC Santa Barbara who was picked to finished last in the conference just completed 2 big (margin) victories over Cal State Fullerton and Cal State Northridge to start conference play at 3-1 and the 3rd victory was a win over rival and one of top teams in the Big West Cal Poly.
Another team I am surprised to see struggling is Cal State Northridge, I know they lost a lot of key players from team that helped them be one of the top teams in the conference the past few years, but I thought this team was still returning some experienced players and would be ready to battle in the Big West.
It is nice to see UC Riverside, UC Santa Barbara and UC Davis back at the top of the standings though, but hopefully it can be a more competitive rest of the season overall.

Earlier this week UC Riverside clinched at least a share of the Big West Regular Season title and a top 2 seed in the Big West Tournament, with a win over Hawaii on Saturday 2/27 UC Riverside can clinch the #1 seed and the Regular Season title.

But one of their best players, Annelise Ito, tore her ACL (the second time in her career). I hope they hang on ...
And the mighty Gauchos got another win last night ...

I have seen this girl play---
Michelle Berry, Cal State Fullerton
She has a lot of potential. Considering the results the past couple of years at CSF, I wouldnt be surprised if there is a coaching change there. Hopefully someone will help her refine it.

I made the change for Andee Ritter, she is from UC Irvine.
And I haven't seen Michelle Berry play, but from what I've read about her she could become a very good player for Cal State Fullerton the next few years.

I didn't know Coco Miller had any eligibility left -- maybe Kelly will suit up for the Gauchos next year.

I have to admit I had a similar bad thought when I saw her name earlier.

After routing UC-Davis, Hawaii is going dancing. Had to wait 18 years for this moment.
update: Oh my! The Hawaii men just joined them, beating Long Beach State and winning the BW title.
