Mon 11/23/15 - Tulane 67 Louisiana State 63
Sat 12/05/15 - East Carolina at Auburn

Wed 12/30/15 - Central Florida at Florida

source: WBB State

A little too soon to call a winner but the trend would indicate that the gap between the 2 conferences isn't quite as wide as some would think.

I watched East Carolina play last Sunday against Univ. of Delaware. They have mostly a Junior and Senior group of players. Very experienced. I have a feeling that Eastern Carolina will be in the top 25 teams before the end of the year.

Jayda Payne playing for Eastern Carolina is an outstanding player.

That is a really strange schedule. A lot of schools not participating and some participating more than once.

Last year they had trouble scoring against UConn but they had no problem being physical. I remember them as being strong and tough. They'd fit well in the SEC.

Officially, it is only the two 12/30 games in Jacksonville

Yeah, it's linkster conflating the whole thing and stirring the pot.

The thread title is a construct, not anything organized like the ACC B1G or SEC B12.

Over it's short existence the AAC has been belittled to a degree on this board as being a great deal weaker than the so-called "power" conferences. I happened to notice the 3 completed games so I went over to the new and revised WBB State site and found I could look up all the conference-on-conference games scheduled this season. These are all those games.

I expect that the SEC will win the majority of the remaining games however the derision of the last 2 seasons may be somewhat subdued.

Fri 11/13/15 - Florida 91 Temple 97
Mon 11/23/15 - Tulsa 74 Arkansas 67
Mon 11/23/15 - Tulane 67 Louisiana State 63
Sat 12/05/15 - East Carolina 69 at Auburn 83
Mon 12/07/15 - Southern Methodist 55 at Texas A&M 67
Wed 12/16/15 - Tulane 61 at Mississippi 59
Sun 12/20/15 - East Carolina at South Carolina
Mon 12/21/15 - Mississippi State at Southern Methodist
Mon 12/21/15 - Louisiana State at Connecticut
Wed 12/23/15 - Cincinnati at Georgia
Wed 12/30/15 - South Florida at Mississippi State
Wed 12/30/15 - Central Florida at Florida
Mon 02/08/16 - Connecticut at South Carolina

source: WBB State

The standings are currently AAC 4 SEC 2 Seven games left to play.

From the look of the remaining games it may end up being 7-6, one way or the other, which kind of puts the 2 conferences on the same level.

If I remember, someone on this board described the AAC as a bunch of high school teams. That doesn't say much for the SEC now, does it?

You can't infer that at all. Not all teams are playing in this fictitious event that you have created. Anyway, I couldn't care less about this than I do at this very moment.

I didn't start this post to prove anything. It was done to provide a counterpoint to what has been a number of posts over a couple of years that have dismissed the AAC while at the same time extolling the SEC. Saying they are on the same level is a little excessive I'll admit, but these results are good evidence that there isn't as wide a gulf between them as some seem to think.

Mon 02/08/16 - Connecticut at South Carolina

The standings are currently AAC 4 SEC 2 Seven games left to play.

Here are the updated scores:
South Carolina 88 vs. East Carolina 57 (Myrtle Beach)
Mississippi State 72 vs. SMU 70 (San Juan)
Connecticut 86 vs. LSU 46 (Hartford)
Georgia 60 vs. Cincinnati 42 (Athens)
Mississippi State 68 vs. South Florida 58 (Jacksonville) * Official AAC/SEC challenge
Florida 93 vs. Central Florida 79 (Jacksonville)* Official AAC/SEC challenge

So, the linkster AAC/SEC challenge current standings are SEC- 7/ AAC 5 with the UConn/ South Carolina game left. The Official standings are SEC-2/ AAC-0
