Sometimes its hard to keep track of which teams are going to be missing players this season, so lets keep track of that here if you hear anything. I guess injuries or even suspensions can go here, but I won't list players who are ineligible to play due to transfer because that list is just way too high.

Trinder is a very good facilitator and the likeliest candidate for the starting PG spot. Now the Ducks either have to start Spanish Freshman Maite Cazorla or continue playing Lexi Petersen out of position. Moving Petersen back to the 3 was a big part of their plan for this season so we'll see how that shakes out.

Cal kicked their leading returning scorer Mercedes Jefflo off the team. Not an injury but since this is a significant loss when the school year has already started, I'll list it here.

No, the one who had the ACL that the Liberty drafted (er, the player, not the ACL, though I suppose they're included) was Michala Johnson.

The Johnsons are sisters. Michaela left UConn to play with younger sister Malayna who is a junior at Wisconsin. Michaela was granted a 6th year for this season after her transfer from UConn as a soph and her ACL last year as a 5th year SR.

That will, um, impact her early season playing time, I'm sure.

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama junior forward Ashley Williams will miss the 2015-16 season for medical reasons, head coach Kristy Curry announced on Friday.

“Ashley will continue to be a member of our team, and we will continue to support her as such,” said Curry. “We look forward to her returning to the court for us next season.”

Williams started 54 games in her first two years suiting up for the Crimson Tide. For her career, she has averaged 13.1 points and 6.3 rebounds per contest and was named to the Southeastern Conference All-Freshman Team in 2014.

Thanks, had that on the list but will this put Alabama at the bottom of the SEC? 2 conference wins last year, now their best player is out. Ouch. Tough rebuild for Coach Curry.

Nebraska's star recruit Jessica Shepard may miss the first few games of the season as she comes back from an ACL injury. But they got some good news, Rachel Theriot is fully cleared to practice.

It seems she's never really been healthy. How many years has she been there already? Seems like forever. Does she have any possibility of ever really playing at Pitt?

She had not gotten to play a game for the Wildcats, but Chrishae Rowe has been dismissed from the team at Kentucky.

Well THAT lasted a long time! Maybe she needs to find a team where she's not behaviorally challenged?

True. If she can't get her act together for either Graves or Mitchell, who are pretty far apart in a lot of respects as far as coaches go, her chances of finding a place to play at a good D1 school have greatly diminished. I could maybe see a smaller conference school taking a chance on her in order to win a conference championship. This is assuming the problem has nothing to do with academics.

Agreed but I would venture to say that the problems also include but not limited to academics Wink

Maybe she better try D-II. Some of them (not all, by any means!) have a little less emphasis on academics. Or if she's serious, maybe JUCO would be a better start. But at this point, I have to wonder if she's serious.

And just as an addendum, I'm thinking that this early in the semester, academics are most likely NOT the problem for Ms. Rowe.
