Thought some of you might appreciate a bit of history.

right after title IX passed, Cyndi Meserve Bona played in the NCAA while women were still in AIAW.

She is a very close friend of our family and it is a pretty cool story.

I had picked up an AP photo in the 90s with her on it.

we have a small little cottage in Maine. one night I was chatting with a woman that was on the show I've got a secret. I told her about the All American Red Heads and how they wereaalso on the show.

she tells me how there was a woman in town that did something with basketball and was on Walter Cronkite and was asked to dinner by Joe Namath.

I knew it had to be Cyndi. we met and our family have become great friends.

it was hell for her. there would be cartoons in papers with a bra hanging from rim and much more. always thought a good little documentary. she would have to carry a male basketball player around the block in NYC for conditioning. I believe she was the best free throw shooter on the team.

she just wanted to play hoop. she has been on the senior circuit for almost 10 years.
