Got it.
Also wondering if I need to add Danielle Ballard to this list. Anyone heard anything?
And didn't Summitt release a player from Tech and Cooper-Dykes release a Woman from Troy.
Expecting the usual annual defections from Arizona, Alabama, Duke, and Geo Tech.

Chyanne Butler left USC for ???
Deanna Calhoun left USC for originally Hawaii, but not there???
Destinie Gibbs is sitting out, or maybe redshirting from USC , this year so she can transfer next year to a school closer to home
Ariya Crook didnt really transfer from USC, as she was dismissed from the program, has supposedly graduated and will turn pro in January.

Damn, what is going on at Southern Cal? Lots of transfers after a pretty successful year.

It's like USC hired a coach who was verbally abusive with the Mercury and had one of her assistants dinged for abuse at UNC Wilmington. Honestly, Coop and USC were a match made in a special hell.

What's Duke's transfer ratio the last several years? Seems to me it is only exceeded (n the majors) by USC......

Duke players haven't left in clumps...yet. Just slow and steady. Color me shocked that Kendall McGravy-Cooper hasn't been one of them. She's been doing a lot of "catching up on her sleep on the floor" this season.

It was kind of a suprised that Sierra went to Duke given that her family wanted her to stay close to home (NY).

A lot of Duke transfers could be due to the academic load. They take classes with students who are as motivated about their education as the players are towards basketball.
Not saying that's the Calhoun case.

There is only one I can think of with this possibly the case, though it's conceivably a factor in others. By contrast, the number of players who desperately wanted to leave the program but stayed just to get the Duke degree is HUGE. You can get an idea by looking at the Asst Coaches who've left. They don't have a Duke degree holding them. Other than sweater man, Asst Coaches have had higher than 100% turnover and only 1 went on to be a Head Coach. And she ain't doing so well so far. Well, two if you count Trisha Stafford-Odom becoming a head coach at a non Div.1 program. But she first moved to the bench of arch rival N.Carolina. If that's not an "in your face" move, I don't know what is. And you can bet your bottom dollar that Sam Williams' smile was extra big when she and Louisville went to the FF and McCallie did not. No love lost there.

So do Stanford players. They don't transfer very often.

Most insiders saw this coming especially given the family dynamic, she was forced to transfer

I don't really understand any of the boldfaced terms as they apply to Calhoun. Why don't you explain in more detail, HoopsQueen. |

Nor Joy Cheek, a proud Duke alum and sweet person. Can't believe she bounced for Ohio State like that.
McCallie sounds NUTS.

I always forget about this *phenomenon* when I see the Uber Talented Classes Coach P pulls in--I'm always shocked by those, until it comes to this. Again.
Players can (and do) get disgruntled for any number of reasons. But typically, when they've gone through the lengthy recruiting process, AND settle on a school that's an elite hoops program, but then LEAVE early on....there's probably something REALLY deserving of investigation there.
