The P recruiting juggernaut rolls on. Angela Salvadores of Spain, who made the USA's Asia Durr and Arike Ogumbowale look like offensive chopped liver as she won the MVP award in the 2014 FIBA U17 championship, is reported as having committed to Duke.

Salvadores is ranked #5 in the 2015 recruiting class by ESPN.

Salvadores scored 40 points in the U17 championship game against the USA team.

Wow. Going from zero PG's this season to two of the best next year.

Poor Girl! (....did she actually meet Coach P? I hope Leti Romero filled her in on *the ropes* here in American College Hoops. Shocked)

She certainly does appear talented on her highlight clip. And Spain, meanwhile, is appearing to be developing some real talent on a consistent basis. Future Olympian Challenger?

I watched that game, Salvadores almost single-handedly won that game for Spain. Very impressive performance, Duke should be very happy.

Angela is a good player and probably a two time All American is she stays 4 years at Duke

However, the 40 points she scored against USA's U17 team was a direct result of poor coaching. There was no effort made to get the ball out of her hands and force someone else to make shots. I'm convinced USA had the talent to take her out of the game and for whatever reason Coach Phillips elected not to.

In one of your many attacks on coach P you said she would not get

anymore top players unless they were going to medical school. So

it looks like according to you we have 2 new doctors on the way.

She picked Duke over Purdue and Kentucky.

Actually, THAT would surprise me. But not impossible.

I thought along those same lines....those kids didn't look like they were going all out on defense, but given the overall caliber of players, even 20 pts would have been impressive had they focused on her more defensively.

I honestly have no idea how good Salvadores might be, but there's a lot of weight being put on a one-game performance. She wasn't that good in other games in the tournament, so I think projecting All-American status on this small sample might be more than a bit of wishful thinking.

A lot of Euros have come over with great credentials and then been ordinary in the NCAA -- and of course some have been very good.

It's nice to see she was smart enough to avoid Kansas State.

Wasn't good? Taking out her USA stats, 16.5 pts on 47% shooting for a guard is very good, and I'm assuming she was the #1 option? She would have made all-tournament team regardless.

Compared to say KLS 15 PPG/45% or Durr 12.8 PPG/50%.

But I do agree predicting AA is silly, she didn't nearly have the talent around her as team USA, but she still scored efficiently.

Guess you surmised I stopped paying any attention to your PM's quite a while ago. LOL. Get back to me when Duke gets to a Final Four. #tiredofexcuses Q: How many #1 recruiting classes does it take to get to a Final Four? A: None (with a good coach)
