Edwards, a Meriden native, already had her first “Welcome to UConn” moment. It happened just a few days after she arrived on campus for summer session.

“They push you to new levels that you didn’t think you had in you, and you get to that level and there is another one and another one. You are so tired, and it is another level. You are doing a full-court passing drill, and at the end you have to catch and shoot it a certain way, and I never practiced that.”

Welcome to the world of college basketball. After running a full court drill and getting winded, you don't just get some water and go to the line to shoot some foul shots. Now you hustle to a basket and work on same game-like shooting (coming off screens, shooting off the dribble, etc).

Is she the one who didn't go to school last year and just spent the entire year working out under the direction of her dad, or something to that effect?

No, that was Ekmark from Arizona. Edwards went to Blair Academy in New Jersey.
