Joslyn Massey is transferring from Purdue. She was a Top 100 recruit but has barely seen the court in two years.

Interesting to note that Tasia Butler from Syracuse and Ashley Perez from St. John's are both coming to JMU. I hope that, among other things, means the Dukes won't miss Nikki Newman and Kirby Burkholder TOO much!

I really don't understand Ashley's decision. Brooks goes height at every position except PG- what's he going to do with a short shooting guard? She showed no signs of being able to play point at St. John's. She doesn't bang the way the key players there do, either; she's kind of slight, and she's always been a three-point specialist. Don't get me wrong, I wish her all the best and I hope she does well, but I would actually have to put serious thought into finding a system that she fits into *less*.

So do you think it's bad for Ashley or bad for JMU?

I'm not Queenie, and I haven't seen enough of St. John's to know Ashley, but most teams can use a 3-point specialist, especially if they have any speed. Sounds like she might be coming off the bench. (I am a kinds-sorta JMU fan, since I live in the Valley)

Thaddessia was not poised to have a breakout senior year! She was plagued by injuries throughout her career and showed little commitment to getting in shape and trying to make a go out of it. Cooper did the only compassionate thing and that was to let her complete her degree from USC but use the one year of remaining of basketball eligibility to play elsewhere. She would not have played at SC. Thaddessia took Cooper's offer which was very generous to say the least. The girl got a free college education($200,000) at a top rated academic school where she would not normally had been admitted and played in, maybe 12 basketball games, over the 4 year period. Where do I sign up for that program.

I was not referring to Southall at USC, but rather Jessica Cohen at UNCW when CynCoop was there:

I stand corrected on the player being at USC, however, the story is true about her running off a rising senior that wanted to stay with the program.

Katie Powell, 6-4 P out of Duluth Georgia, was released from her NLI with TCU and signed with Dykes at Arkansas.
Avyanna Young left UW-Milwaukee and signed with UW-Madison and will have two years of eligibility remaining.

Kylie Smith is leaving Vanderbilt. Three years of eligibility left. Rumours are that Iowa State, Texas Tech, Penn, Wofford, and N. Florida are in the mix.

The article has a documented email from Cohen requesting that she be allowed to stay at UNCW, so I am not sure what is not "clear". This happened under Coop's watch, like it or not.

Liz Stratham is transferring from Butler to Indiana and will have one year eligibility left after sitting out 2014-15. Last season she lead the BEast in total blocked shots and was the second leading scorer for the Bulldogs at 13.1 ppg. She originally transferred to Butler from Xavier.
