I'll believe it when I see it.

No, that's my running joke that implies Antonelli loves everything about DeShields.

No matter what players join Tenn., Holly Warlick could never coach them good enough to beat the Huskies!

I'd like to know how it's a "done deal" when no school is even permitted to have had contact with DeShields to discuss it or offer a scholarship as of yet.

People are just guessing.

If she goes to Tennessee, it's not about being homesick. It's about being with her friend.

Or playing at a place where there's more fans in seats, then t shirts on them. DeShileds is a star and I can't blame her for wanting to play on one of the biggest stages in college basketball, in the game earlier in the year Tennessee at Carolina, the crowed was more orange then blue.

What's the big deal about going to play with her friend??? I mean, to my understanding, the 4 other highly touted freshman who went to UNC went there because of DD. Maybe I am looking at this too logically, but are we to believe that Te'a Cooper has more control over this situation than her parents or any other adults in her inner circle??? She could have went to Tennessee from the get go... Confused

If Diamond goes to Rocky Top, in two years the SEC showdowns between UTK and South Carolina should be Godzilla vs. King Kongian, featuring top stars from the high school classes of 2013, 14 and maybe 15.

Which team will Doris, Debbie, Rebecca and Kara hype?

Here's some video of Diamond's alleged NBF, Te'a Cooper

I hope she does go to UT. She is a star and loves attention. So she needs to be at UT or ND. If she went to UT, she would be the next big thing since Candace. Do it Diamond!

Suppose her former travel ball coach contacts Tennessee to see if there is some interest on their part . Is that against the rules ?

Of course no team has been in contact, directly or indirectly, with Diamond DeShields. That would be against the rules.

I'm not judging her reason for transferring, at least not until I fully understand what that reason is. I'm just discounting the rationale that DeShields appeared homesick that Voepel was pushing in her initial article about this subject.

There were rumors that she didn't want to play on the same team as Kaela Davis back before she committed to UNC. Only those young ladies know the validity of those rumors, but it would explain why she didn't commit to TN if true.

Kaela Davis de-committed from UT a LONG time before signing day. I'm thinking it may have been about the time Pat officially retired, but I could be wrong about that. DD would have had plenty of time to change her mind. It sounds a little more like a Michelle Marciniak situation..call it "signee's remorse" if you wish. That is, if she does decide on Tennessee, which I am certainly not at all convinced of.

I agree. This is just a Voepel speculation based on a sentence fragment uttered to her in an interview months ago. The homesickness hypothesis is no stronger than the thin chicken bones speculations we all can come up with on boards.

OOMF stands for One Of My Followers.

I don't think Diamond follows Machelle.

There's a good point: exactly what kind of a "friend" gets 3 others to join her at school A, and then....runs off to school B with another friend?? Rolling Eyes I really hope she's got something better than that as her rationale!
