I'm surprised that the (numerically challenged) Big 10 is the only conference with more than two teams in the Dance that emerged from round one unscathed. Should I be? Rolling Eyes

The B1G is also undefeated in the WNIT. Wink

Not as surprised as I am that people still feel the need to refer to the Big 10 (not to mention the Big XII, Atlantic-10) as numerically challenged. Suppose we could also refer to the "locationally challenged" conferences such as Pac-12 (pretty sure Colorado & Utah aren't on the coast) or the Atlantic-10 (St. Louis?)...Big East (teams in Milwaukee, Omaha, etc).

Numbers & locations in the name pretty much mean nothing now with all the realignment that has gone on.

I'd rather be numerically challenged the way the B10 is than the way the B12 is.

Teams in or recently in the Big East 7-0
DePaul 1-0
St. John's 1-0
Connecticut 1-0
Louisville 1-0
Notre Dame 1-0
Syracuse 1-0
West Virginia 1-0

I know the re-alignent had absolutely nothing to do with wbb, but it sure looks like they managed to break up the dynasty.

I think the Pac-12 performance is notable. They typically get 2 or 3 teams in. Stanford and one other, or Stanford and two others. Getting five teams in itself is an accomplishment, but sometimes, getting the extra team in means more early losses. To get five teams in and go 4-1 is impressive. If only USC hadn't stumbled (which hurt my bracket, as well)

Every B10 team was favored in their first game, as all teams had seeds between 3 and 6.

BYU only won two games? From all the hype they got, it seemed like a heck of a lot more than that. Laughing

I guess that's what happens when you give UConn a scare.
